We Stand with You – Pittsburgh Strong!

Dear Brightside Academy Community:

Today, we were struck with a senseless tragedy within the close-knit neighborhood of Squirrel Hill, which is also home to our Hazelwood center. This heartless incident, which targeted local families peacefully gathered in prayer and first responders who so daringly and selflessly intervened, leaves us speechless. Our heart goes out to our beloved community of Squirrel Hill, the City of Pittsburgh, and to all those across the nation who are affected by this act of terror. Brightside Academy stands with you, united!

In times like these, we are fortunate to witness the overwhelming support and unity amongst fellow neighbors, groups, and people of all backgrounds. As an integral part of the Squirrel Hill community for Over 20 years, Brightside Academy offers its unconditional support to those in need.

Children can be especially impacted by the images seen and emotions we experience during these circumstances. We will place special attention on providing a safe space for BSA children and families to come together for dialogue and in support of their community.

BSA stands with you – Pittsburgh Strong!

Great Keystone STARS News from Philadelphia Locations

Brightside Academy is pleased to announce great PA Keystone STARS news for Philadelphia: the Mellon (701 Market St.) academy is our newest STAR4 designation and the 6000 Castor location has been re-certified as a STAR3 provider!

The Keystone STARS website describes the program as

“a quality rating system that promotes quality improvement in early learning and development programs. A Keystone STARS designation informs parents that their children are in a safe, respectful environment in which they are learning new things every day to support their current and future successes in school and in life.”
It takes commitment as a region to achieve this success and we extend a warm thank you to ALL of the individuals contributing to this effort for Philadelphia. We express our gratitude to key contributors who have been essential to our success: teachers, academy leadership, field director, and regional staff.

Brightside Academy’s locations are effectively working on many innovations and improvements to our programs. This is only the beginning of many future successes aimed with the vision of providing great early education in our communities. We thank the region for their hard work. It takes bright and dedicated people like you to move us forward to accomplishing our vision of quality education for all children each day.
