Job Title: Director
Reports To: Area Manager
Status: Level II (Exempt)
Description:
Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and general management of the child care facility.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A successful Director must be able to adequately perform each essential duty, and have the following education and experience:
- Meets state licensing requirements for the position.
- Possesses strong organizational, general office and basic computer skills.
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and ability to determine opportunities in the community.
- Flexible and willing to perform any tasks necessary to ensure successful operations.
- Understands the chain of command and accepts criticism and suggestions as an opportunity to improve.
- Able to solve non-routine problems
- Able to function independently without constant supervision
- Frequently lifts or moves weight as in lifting, carrying or holding children and infants of 10-60 lbs.
Essential Duties:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures that the children are supervised at ALL times.
- Encourages effective, quality teaching by ensuring that the curriculum is followed and lesson plans are adhered to.
- Manages center resources to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for the children and staff.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops and monitors center staff to ensure high quality child care services and in accordance with our CBA with the United Child Care Union in union regions.
- Accountable for all actions of center staff.
- Acts as a liaison between the teachers and parents addressing problems and answering questions regarding all aspects of center operations.
- Knowledge of children enrolled and in attendance, their room assignment and funding status.
- Properly markets the center to prospective clients and applicants. This includes promoting the facilities, activities, policies and enrollment procedures. Conducts interviews of parents and child prior to enrolling.
- Conducts oneself and represents BSA in a professional manner at all times.
- Ensures that the center is operating efficiently and in compliance with all Brightside Academy policies, state regulations, CACFP and all other regulatory agencies.
- Ensures that all required corporate reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Works a minimum of 45 hours per week. Able to ascertain when additional hours are needed to prevent or solve problems.
- Completes annual evaluations for all assigned center staff.
- Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
